I have been natural all my life, my family is Caribbean and I was
brought up there and they have always taught me natural is the way to go. We
are strong Christian family and we see being natural as an appreciation for how
God made you and embracing it make you even more beautiful. I always knew who I
was so teen peer pressure never affected me .When I was younger I used to have
kinky get back shoulder length hair but I had an illness that affected the
health of my hair for a period of time plus imma tomboy so hair care wasn’t on
top of my list lol. My hair picked back up due to the naturalness of the
Caribbean, water, fruit everything is fresh, coconut oil, aloe vera and I had a
set regimen and my hair lapped it all up.
I moved back to the UK in my mid teens where the weather was cold,
sulphate shampoos,
Hard water, and I was more
focusing on adjusting to life here. Then I started to use blowdry because my
hair shrinkage after a wash broke combs (lol), and not taking care of my hair
caused the health to decrease and growth was stagnant. Fed up and ready for a
change I began to research, look after
my hair and started to incorporate natural products in to my regimen and health
journey. Its been 2 years and my hair is healthy and has grown inches (imma slow grower) and I am loving it.
